Max 18 participants. We will stay at Baywater Resort on the shores of the Swartvlei Lake in the heart of the Garden Route.
There are many hikes in the area, some starting at Baywater, and others are further afield. Hikes on offer include the various Kingfisher trails in Wilderness (all between 6 and 10km long), Goukamma Nature Reserve Circuit (8km), Goukamma Groenvlei Trail (13km) and the Goukamma beach walk (14km). There are also 3 different elephant trails in the Knysna Forest (9-20km). We will choose the hikes according to the prevailing weather conditions and tides, where appropriate.
Given that many of the hikes are half-day affairs, there will be time for additional leisure activities in the afternoons. Or you can just relax and chill out at Baywater or take in some of the other leisure activities that the resort has to offer.
Further costs for permits and other optional leisure activities needs to be budgeted for. The cost is approximately R3 500 per person sharing a 1-bedroom chalet or R2 100 per person sharing a 2-bedroom chalet. Costs still need to be finalised. A deposit of R1 550 or R2 050 is due on booking. Final balance is due mid-June.
