GRADE 2A - 3B, MEDIUM PACE
This is a weekend filled with hikes and whale watching. Accommodation is at a 3-star self-catering guesthouse. The weekend includes a 2hr 7km hike (graded 2A) on the new cliff path on Friday afternoon where we hope to spot lots of whales and dolphins. On Saturday, we'll do a 4-5hr 11km hike (graded 2B) on the mountain above Voëlklip where we should have more opportunities to spot whales. In the afternoon, there is optional wine tasting in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. On Sunday, there is an optional 6hr 10-12km hike (graded 3B) at Fernkloof Nature Reserve to Galpin hut. This hike is limited to 12 people.
The cost is approximately R1100 per person for 2 nights’ accommodation and the club admin fee. The final cost will be confirmed once the bookings are in. A 50% deposit is due by the end of February, and the balance will be due by the end of March.
