Higher Steenberg and St. James Peak with Mark Hawthorne

Silvermine East
An easy to moderate circular route starting at Gate # 2 on the eastern side of Ou Kaapse Weg, climbing Higher Steenberg Peak with a tea break at Fat Lady's cave. Continuing to St. James Peak for a lunch break, looking out for Southern Right, Humpback and Brydes whales. If we are very lucky we may see an Orca. Along the trail are interesting rock formations, as well as Painted Ladies and aniseed-scented boegoe amongst other interesting fynbos. We return via Muizenberg Cave and Silvermine Waterfall
